President Maithripala Sirisena said yesterday (08) that the controversial Sharia University in Batticaloa is to be brought under the purview of the Education Ministry.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has stated earlier in the week that no institution had obtained permission to conduct degree courses at this campus in Batticaloa.
