Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has said that Sri Lanka will take steps to transform Sri Lanka into a knowledge-based country by incorporating modern methods of knowledge and technology in the education sector.
The Premier made this statement during the inauguration of the 'ShilpaSena' Technical exhibition yesterday (18).
Prime Minister Wickremesinghe said that steps will be taken to provide computer education by modernizing the field of education.
"We are planning to take the tourism industry forward through technology. For that, fundamentally education has to be built. Rural infrastructure should be provided before all these can be done. Steps have been taken to improve rural infrastructure through programs such as Gamperaliya and Enterprise Sri Lanka."
