Eighteen suspects were arrested in Laksirigama area in Habarana yesterday in connection with the offences of conducting a party at a guest house while not adhering to social distancing regulations, stated the Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana.
They were produced before the Kekirawa Magistrate Court yesterday and all of them had pleaded guilty.
They had been fined Rs. 2,500 each, while the total fine of the 18 suspects was Rs. 45,000.
Further, a total of 22 persons including the 18 in Habarana were arrested yesterday in connection with the offences of not wearing face masks and not adhering to social distancing regulations.
The total number of those arrested for not adhering to quarantine regulations is 3,232.
