A total of eleven deaths were reported due to fatal road accidents during the last 24 hours, stated Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana.
He said that nine of them had been killed yesterday while the remaining two had been in hospital after sustaining injuries from road traffic accidents, and their deaths had been reported from the respective hospitals.
"We can see that according to the statistics, there is a daily total of approximately nine to ten deaths and over 40 injuries from road traffic accidents. Therefore, we urge the public to be vigilant and avoid reckless driving that cause road accidents," he stated.
