The Elpitiya Pradeshiya Saba election which came to an end a short while ago has experienced a 72% voter turnout.
The final results will be announced before 10.00 pm tonight, the Chairman of Election Commission said.
The Election Commission Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya and The People's Action for Free and Fair Elections (PAFFEREL) stated that the election has been largely peaceful thus far.
