Energise your skin with Sothys Detox Energie™

04 Oct 2020

Sothys Detox Energie™ Intensive Treatment is a new treatment developed by Sothys Paris in order to combat pollution which has become one of the most common factors that negatively impacts our skin.  Speaking to Sothys Managing Director Soraya De Zoysa, she shared that one of the primary reasons they’ve chosen to introduce this treatment for their Sri Lankan patrons is due to the environmental factors that wreak havoc on one’s skin, being ever-present in our tropical climate. She shared that often the dirt or dust we encounter can enter through the surface of the skin and negatively impact our skin cells, causing premature aging. Our skin serves as a natural barrier against external factors, and while it succeeds at keeping most things out, it isn’t completely impenetrable. Pollution hurts our skin’s barrier’s functioning by breaking down collagen and the lipids contained within it, causing irritation, rashes and breakouts, uneven skin tone, pigmentation, dullness, as well as the formation of wrinkles.   Sothys launched the Sothys Detox Energie™ Intensive Treatment to fight toxin and free radical build-up in the skin while protecting the skin from external aggressions such as pollution, UV rays, and stress. The treatment is unique in that while their specific treatments are often focused on certain elements like anti-aging, anti-acne, hydration, dark circles, etc., this treatment helps re-energise one’s skin, allowing the cells to carry on their regularly programmed work in repairing and revitalising your skin, which results in brighter and more energised skin. [caption id="attachment_99723" align="alignleft" width="200"] Sothys Managing Director Soraya De Zoysa[/caption] De Zoysa shared that Sothys offers a complete solution in the form of “in-salon treatment” and home care, and the professional Sothys Detox Energie ™ Intensive Treatment will leave your skin instantly re-energised and radiant, thanks to its key ingredients; organic elderberry extract, detoxifying peptides, and organic Siberian ginseng. What’s more is that every customer will be given free home care at the end of each treatment. We also asked De Zoysa about her observations on Sri Lankans and skincare – whether Lankans do in fact care for their skin enough – and she said that as of late, things have certainly improved; with social media allowing a wider spread of knowledge of the importance of skincare, she said that there is a growing interest in treatments and skincare in general. “Overall, Sri Lankans show an interest in maintaining their appearance. Excluding a few outliers, the majority appreciate the need to look good. They show an interest in looking their best,” she said, adding that likely with social media, there is that understating of preventative measures, as opposed to treatments, once a problem has arisen. She said that it is much better to place importance in taking care of oneself pre-emptively, as opposed to when a problem has arisen and has worsened. De Zoysa also added that nowadays, skincare and self-care are not at all limited to women and that according to observations, nearly 35% of their patrons tend to be men and the numbers are growing. She also spoke about the effects of the pandemic on their business mode, especially considering that their services are contact-based services, and said that during the lockdown, their main purpose was to help their patrons practise taking care of their skin at home. She said that even after the curfew was lifted, there were many who were afraid to venture out and so they established a home delivery system to get the products to their customers. As for the present situation, Sothys has taken all the necessary precautions, and she mentioned that their therapists are regularly monitored and they’ve even introduced treatments that are zero-contact-based, which has allowed them to get back into the swing of things amidst the new normal. The Sothys Detox Energie™ home care range comprises a cream, serum, essence, ampoules, and primer and the Sothys Detox Energie™ Intensive Treatment is available at the Sothys Esthéti Centres down Kynsey Road and in Negombo as well as selected Sothys salons.
