The news spread on social media networks stating that a great environmental destruction is taking place is untrue, stated Minister of Environment Mahinda Amaraweera during a media briefing held today (30) at the Department of Government Information.
The Minister said that this was done with the intention of discrediting the government. He accused the leader of the opposition Sajith Premadasa of spreading false allegations regarding environmental damage but ignoring Amaraweera’s invites for debate on several previous occasions on this topic.
