* Italy 1 - 0 Wales

Italy registered three-out-three wins as they beat Wales 1-0 to finish on top of Group A on Sunday (20). After a few early scares by Federico Chiesa, Matteo Pessina put Italy in the lead when he guided the ball in, from a set piece. Wales started to click in the second half but they suffered a huge blow when Ethan Ampadu was shown a red card after he tried to retrieve the ball he lost in possession. Wales had to do the bulk of the defence in the second half as Italy pushed for the second. Wales’ best chance came in the 72nd minute when Gareth Bale was offered a ball on the full which he slammed over the crossbar.

* Switzerland 3 - 1 Turkey

The Swiss finished third in Group A with a convincing win over Turkey by 3-1 on Sunday. They got off to a flying start when Haris Seferovic turned and fired a shot to the far corner which put the Swiss in the lead. Turkey had a few shots on goal but the Swiss keeper Yann Sommer held strong in front of goal. However, Swiss doubled their lead through a brilliant strike from Xherdan Shaqiri before the break.

Second half saw another fantastic goal when Turkey’s midfielder Irfan Kahveci found the top corner from outside the box. Unfortunately, the hope of a comeback went down the drain for Turkey two minutes later when Shaqiri scored his brace to seal the win for the Swiss. This win was not enough for the Swiss, though, to go over Wales. But they will wait in hope to become one of the four best thirds from the group stage.
