It was a thrilling return of English Premier League after a week’s absence due to the international break.

The majority of the Premier League matches took place on Saturday (11), but all the attention was on a certain Portuguese making his return to where it all began. It was the second debut of Christiano Ronaldo aka CR7 at Manchester United.

He announced the arrival in a grand manner with a brace against New Castle United. Bruno Fernandez scored his fourth of the season with a stunning long range shot while Jesse Lingard scored his first goal of the season. The 4-1 win got them on top of the league.

Liverpool beat Leeds United 3-0

Liverpool got the better of Leeds United in a 3-0 drubbing on Sunday (12). Mohommad Salah took the headlines with the opening goal which was his 100th for Liverpool.

Leeds were reduced to 10 men on the hour make, when Pascal Struijk was shown a red card for a challenge on Harvey Elliott that forced the Liverpool midfielder to be taken off on a stretcher.

Hotspur suffer first loss

Tottenham Hotspur suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of Patrick Viera’s Chrystal Palace. Their new summer signing Odsonne Edouard came from the bench to score a brace while Wilfred Zaha scored the opening goal.

Romelu Lukaku continued his goal-scoring form with two goals in their 3-0 win over Aston Villa on Saturday.

Camavinga scores first in Real debut

Young French sensation Eduardo Camavinga announced his arrival at Real Madrid with his first goal in their 5-2 win over Celta Vigo.

Karim Benzema scored first hat-trick of the season while Vinicius Junior scored his first of the new season.

LaLiga defenders scrape through

Reigning champions Atletico Madrid scraped through to a 2-1 win over Espanyol on Saturday.

It was a re-tuning game of Antoine Griezmann who failed to make an impact in the game. Two late goals from Yannick Carrasco and Thomas Lemar won the match for the champions.
