* LaLiga: Atletico lose more points, Barcelona close down gap

LaLiga table leaders Atletico Madrid suffered another defeat as the league entered into the final few weeks. Athletic Bilbao hosted Atletico Madrid on Sunday (25) and it was the hosts who opened scoring through Alex Berenguer. They had the lead for a long time until Stefan Savic equalised in the 77th minute. However, Atletico failed to hold on as Inigo Martinez found the winning goal in the 86th minute for Athletic Bilbao.

Antoine Griezmann’s double strike helped Barcelona secure a 2-1 win over Villarreal also on Sunday. His two goals came in the first half after Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze put the home side in the lead. The three-point put Barca level on points with Real Madrid and two points behind Atletico with a game in hand.

* Bundesliga: RB Leipzig and Bayern in a two-horse race

RB Leipzig’s 2-0 win over Stuttgart put them seven points adrift of league leaders Bayern Munich. With only three weeks remaining in the league, Bayern is still favourites to defend the title. Leipzig has outside chance if they win all three games while Bayern also loses all their remaining games.

Ligue 1: Lille beat Lyon to stay on top

Ligue 1 remains to have the closest title race this year. Lille who is on top at the moment, registered a thrilling win over Lyon by three goals to two. Islam Silmani put Lyon ahead early in the game. The lead doubled with an own goal by Jose Fonte. Lille bounced back just before halftime through a goal from Burak Yilmaz. The second half was dominated by Lille and they found the equaliser in the 60th minute through Jonathan David. Lille went on to find the winning goal in the 85th minute through Yilmaz which put them ahead in the table with 73 points.

With four games to play, Lille, PSG, and Monaco are separated by just a single point each in the top three.
