State Minister of Primary Health Care Epidemics and COVID Disease Control Dr. Sudarshani Fernandopulle yesterday said that even infants develop fever after being vaccinated and that the complications arising post-COVID-19 vaccination were normal.
Speaking at a news briefing on Saturday, the State Minister said fever, tiredness and pain are normal reactions to any vaccine.
"We have so far inoculated infants. We inject the BCG within 24 hours of birth and other vaccines in two, four and six months and so on. Infants too develop fever but they can't complain. It is different this time since it is the adults who are being vaccinated. The body simply reacts to external substances injected into the body," she said.
