Expatriates from 30 countries pledged their support to SLPP presidential candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa. These expats expressed their views during a press conference organised by the Sri Lanka Freedom Party(SLFP) today. "Rajapaksa has the necessary educational qualifications to be president of the country," An expat from the United Kingdom said. He further requested Democratic National Front (DNF) presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa to presennt his educational qualifications to prove he is worthy of becoming president of Sri Lanka. He further requested all citizens of the country to support Rajapakse at the forthcoming presidential polls. Meanwhile, an expat from Canada said,"It is quite evident that Rajapaksa will become president, however we have put our businesses and employment aside to come and cast our vote at the forthcoming elections." Another expat from the UK said, "When we look at Sri Lanka from far way, we see how the country has fallen." She added that there were problems amoung the Judiciary, the Legislature and the Executive and that a strong leader was required to resolve these issues.
