The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has announced that short term power disruptions can be expected in areas islandwide in the next few days until the 3 plants generating 900MW of electricity at the Norochcholai power plant becomes fully functional.
This announcement was made today (03).
An all- island power cut was experienced today for over 6 hours. The CEB Engineers Union temporarily called off their work to rule strike which began on the 1st of December to attend to the breakdown, and had successfully restored the electricity supply by 5. 30pm to all parts of the Island.
