Facts have to be considered before deciding to open the country on 21st: Minister

15 Jun 2021

Cabinet Spokesman and Minister of Mass Media and Information Keheliya Rambukwella stated that the decision on whether to open the country on the 21st or not will have to be taken on the 19th and 20th after an analysis of all the facts.
He was speaking at a media briefing at the Government Information Department today (15). The Minister emphasized that the government's hope is to open up the country and that if the prospects turn positive in the next few days, a positive decision will have to be taken. "If the situation is so serious at the time of making a decision, it would be dangerous to not stick to the previous decision, and it is clear that travel restrictions will have to be extended at this juncture," Rambukwella said.
