A police internal document circulating on WhatsApp claiming that the police were aware of a possible attack, has been declared as fake news by the police as well as sources from the Attorney General’s Department.

When The Sunday Morning contacted the Police media unit seeking veracity of the said document, the police media unit informed The Sunday morning that they were unaware of such a document and that it was likely to be fabricated.

Furthermore, sources inside the Attorney Generals Department too confirmed that the document was fake.

Sources said that senior officials of the Attorney General's Department have verified from the Police that the document was a farce.
