Feb export revenue highest since second wave

  Export earnings achieved in the month of February this year has surpassed the $ 1 billion mark for the first time since the spread of the second wave in the country, The Morning Business reliably learnt.  The export earnings recorded in February recorded a marginal growth compared to the export earnings recorded in the previous month, which was $ 909 million in January. Export earnings recorded during the month of February this year is a growth compared to $ 988 million recorded in the same period last year indicating a recovering economy from the pandemic.  Total export earnings were recorded as $ 10.07 billion regardless of the pandemic that caused severe disruptions to the global and local supply chain.  Meanwhile, imports have declined in the month of February this year to $ 1.3 billion compared to $ 1.6 billion the previous month. It is also a decline from $ 1.5 billion of import expenditure which has been recorded in the same period last year.    According to presidential sources, the government forecasts an export revenue of $ 1.2 billion for the month of March, and also forecasts another $ 1.2 billion import expenditure for the same month this year.
