While congratulating the two female SLAF officers who were commissioned as pilots for the first time in Sri Lanka, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa said this achievement will inspire many Sri Lankan women to follow their dreams with confidence.
The two female officers were commissioned as pilots for the first time in the history of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) at the Air Force Academy in China Bay, Trincomalee today.
In a tweet, the President said, “Congratulations to Pilot Officer ADPL Gunarathe and RT Weerawardana for being commissioned as the first women pilots in the history of Sri Lanka! I believe this achievement will inspire lot of Sri Lankan women to follow their dreams with confidence.”
