The Marine Environmental Protection Authority (MEPA) is set to hand over the documents with regard to the second interim claim for the MV X-Press Pearl disaster this week, The Sunday Morning learnt.
Speaking with The Sunday Morning, MEPA Chairman and Attorney-at-Law Dharshani Lahandapura yesterday (24) noted: "We weren't able to finish the assessment for the second interim claim last week as we had planned. However, we plan on handing over the documents to the Attorney General's office in the upcoming week."
She further elaborated that the amount that has been requested cannot be disclosed yet, as the investigations are still underway.
