Five mobile phones recovered from Negombo Prison jailer's locker

Five mobile phones were recovered from the locker of a 32-year-old jailer at the Negombo Prison, Prisons Spokesman Chandana Ekanayake said today.

He said the jailer was unable to prove the ownership of the mobile phones.

It is suspected that the phones have been brought into the prison to be given to some inmates.

"His service has been suspended, " Ekanayake said.
