Five officers attached to the Aluthgama Police Station have been infected with COVID-19, stated the Aluthgama Police.
Among them are two police constables, two police sergeants and a police inspector.
Accordingly, 12 of their associates have been placed under quarantine and the police premises has been disinfected.
Meanwhile, the OIC of the Kamburupitiya Police Station has also tested positive for COVID-19.
SSP Chandana Herath said that 65 police officers attached to the police station were quarantined.
