A key follower of 'Harak Kata', a drug dealer and a member of an organized crime gang, has been arrested yesterday (22), Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said today.
The suspect was arrested while in possession of heroin near the Galle Road in Weligama during an operation carried out by the STF Organized Crime Unit.
The raid was carried out at around 8.30 last night.
The arrested suspect is identified as Samarasinghe Gamagei Chaminda alias 'Koku Chaminda'.
The Spokesman said that the suspect, a 39-year-old resident of Weligama, was found in possession of 3 grams and 650 milligrams of heroin.
