* Pakistan beat Zims by an innings in first Test

Pakistan registered a comprehensive victory by an innings and 116 runs and went 1-0 up in the two-match Test series in Harare on Saturday (1). Pakistan rode on the foundation laid by Fawad Alam (140) and Imran Butt (91), which helped them set a first-innings lead of 250 runs. The visitors wrapped the Zimbabwe innings for 176 and 134 with a sensational bowling display led by Hasan Ali (pictured) took a match haul of 9/89.

* Man United fans protest on Old Trafford pitch against owners

About 200 Manchester United fans broke on to the Old Trafford pitch to protest against the Glazer family’s ownership of the club. United’s home Premier League game against Liverpool was scheduled to kick off at 4.30 British Summer Time (9 p.m. SL time). The protestors were removed from the pitch after they made their feelings known, BBC said. There also appeared to be a protest outside the hotel where the United players stayed before the game.

* English County Cricket round four over

Yesterday (2) was the final day of round four of the County Cricket Championship 2021 in England. Lancashire defeat Sussex by five wickets at Hove and stay top of Group-3. Somerset beat Middlesex by four wickets, their third win of the season, while there were wins on Saturday (1) for Surrey, Durham, and Nottinghamshire.

* Snooker World Championship final

The Crucible Theatre was around 60% full for day one of the final of the Snooker World Championship yesterday (2). Mark Selby trailed Shaun Murphy 2-3 in the best-of-35-frames match. Selby was seeking fourth world title as Murphy his first since 2005. The 2021 World Snooker Championship, also referred to as the 2021 Betfred World Snooker Championship, is taking place from 17 April to 3 May at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, England.

* Kentucky Derby: Medina Spirit wins, trainer Bob Baffert record seventh victory

Medina Spirit won the Kentucky Derby to give trainer Bob Baffert a record seventh victory in the race yesterday. Jockey John Velazquez led Medina Spirit from the front and held off three challengers on the home straight to claim his fourth Derby win. It was Velazquez and Baffert’s second consecutive win together after Authentic won the delayed 2020 edition in September. “I cannot believe he won this race,” Baffert told NBC Sports. “This little horse, that’s him - he was all guts.”
