The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has informed the Supreme Court through the Attorney General's department that Rev. Fr Cyril Gamini will not be arrested at this moment.
The Director-General of the State Intelligence Service Major General Suresh Salley filed a complaint with the CID on the 25th of October 2021 against multiple statements made in reference to him, with regard to the 2019 Easter Attacks, by Reverend Father Cyril Gamini Fernando, at an online forum on the 23rd of October 2021.
Whereas, Fr Cyril Gamani filed a Fundamental Rights application at the Supreme Court seeking an order to prevent any attempt being made by the CID to arrest him.
