Free seating in the House; Chamber to set agenda

It was decided today, at the Party Leaders meeting held this morning, that there would be free seating for all MPs except the Prime Minister, Leader of the House, and Chief Government Whip.

Following Supreme Court’s stay order on the President’s decision last week to dissolve Parliament, Speaker Karu Jayasuriya ordered a Party Leaders meeting this morning before Parliament was to convene.

There were no heated arguments during today’s meeting while the UPFA is currently holding a group meeting headed by Dinesh Gunawaredena.

Today’s agenda will be decided at the Chamber as Parliament sitting is set to commence at 10 a.m.
