Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera says that the fuel quotas under the national fuel pass system were to be automatically updated at midnight yesterday (7), and that they will remain the same this week.
In a post on his official Twitter handle, he said that after analysing the data from this week, necessary changes will be made where possible next Sunday (14).
“Have been receiving much positive feedback on the National Fuel Pass QR system and ideas for improvement. Thank you to everyone who sent in messages of encouragement and feedback, and volunteered and helped implement it.
“The system alone will not be a complete solution to the fuel crisis. We will keep upgrading the system to fulfill the essential requirements. Credit for the system should go to our developers, the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA), and a team of over 100 individuals representing two of the best companies in Sri Lanka’s IT sector, that wishes to remain anonymous at this moment.”
