Full’r in its arrival brings a brand new perspective on what it takes to create a gourmet burger. Creator Thushara Gunawardhana, with over 17 years of experience in the culinary and hospitality industries both locally and internationally, has handcrafted all that Full’r has to offer with love. A culmination of Gunawardhana’s knowledge, knowhow and pure love of food, each burger at Full’r has been carefully curated, each patty handmade with care, and every drop of sauce poured in with the utmost precision. Having tried out several of what’s on the menu, we can most certainly vouch for Full’r being an absolute labour of love.  Using his expertise in international fast food chains and five-star properties in Australia, Gunawardhana returned to Sri Lanka wanting to create unique restaurant and food brands. He has spent many years studying the landscape, and following his passion for food through consultancy and direct involvement in kitchen design and concept development both in Sri Lanka and overseas. Commenting on what it takes to create a gourmet burger in Sri Lanka, the creator said: “It all starts with sourcing every element of Full’r burgers from local vendors.” With the aim of creating a 100% Sri Lankan product, he shared that while we may not have easy access to ingredients that are considered gourmet in the rest of the world, Sri Lanka has some of the most unique and flavoursome ingredients. He has utilised these flavours available locally, and used that as his inspiration to create these amazing handcrafted burgers for Full’r.  We attempted several options available on the menu at Full’r – trying out the “The Hometown Hero”, “The Bees Knees”, “Captain Cool” and last but not least, their vegetarian option “That’s What Cheese Said”. Considering that the patties and sauces are made from scratch, you are sure to notice the unique flavour profiles featured in every burger, not being run-of-the-mill store-bought sauces – you immediately taste the difference. Our personal favourite was “The Hometown Hero” which is their signature Sri Lankan Beef Burger. With an enormous handmade beef patty infused with local chillies, the spicy kick is what we Lankan’s look for in just about everything we eat, and it’s incredibly satisfying. “The Bees Knees” is a less spicy option for those looking to have a laidback meal, grilled chicken pieces with a homemade honey mustard glaze on top, this burger is bursting with flavour. To be perfectly honest, despite us being typical Sri Lankans who are hardwired to assume flavour equals spice, we were taught a bit of lesson here with the dynamic flavour profile on offer. While we usually abhor whatever vegetarian options that burger places have to offer – not to offend the vegetarians but they are sure to agree – the veg-style burgers are usually an afterthought in most menus. However, Full’r comes in clutch with the refreshing “That’s What Cheese Said”, with Gunawardhana  adding that it will be the first of many vegetarian burgers that will come out of their kitchen.  We also have to make note of the pricing, for the tender love and care that has evidently gone into the creation of these burgers, the generous amount of meat in the patties, put together in a state-of-the-art cloud kitchen designed by the creator himself, and the overall quality of the product. It is a steal to be getting it at these prices, and we absolutely recommend that you give Full’r burgers a try.  Full’r will also commence operations in a second cloud kitchen based in Mount Lavinia to cater to the suburban clientele of the locality.   Full’r Burgers are currently available via PickMe and UberEats or can also be directly ordered on 0112 123456.
