The Minister of State for Pharmaceuticals Supply and Regulation, Prof. Channa Jayasumana, stated that steps have been taken to implement new decisions on a number of issues, including the completion of all funeral arrangements within 24 hours.
This was revealed by Channa Jayasumana while participating in the Derana 360 programme yesterday (15).
"We have decided to limit the number of people attending the funeral and to advise that the funeral be completed within 24 hours. Meanwhile, we have reduced the number of participants for weddings to only 50 from 150. If there has been a breach of quarantine laws, we will be issuing legal notices,” he stated.
It was further revealed that special attention is being paid to nightclubs and other recreational gatherings.
