All Navy officers and personnel who were residing at the Gaffoor Building have been tested and confirmed to be negative for Covid-19.
Ministry of Health (MoH) Public Health Services Deputy Director General Dr. Paba Palihawadana told The Sunday Morning that only the first individual who engaged in duties at the building had tested positive.
“Apart from the first positive case reported from the building, all of the others are negative for Covid-19,” Dr. Palihawadana said.
She said that over 200 naval officers who had had been housed at the Gaffoor Building had been tested.
The Gaffoor Building was completely cordoned off and all its inhabitants were sent for quarantine and PCR testing after a single naval officer who lived in the building tested positive for Covid-19.
