Issuance of gazette delayed by two days

The Ministry of Health has sought the Attorney General’s (AG’s) opinion on the special gazette notification regarding the resumption of civilian life amidst the Covid-19 threat, The Morning learnt.
The gazette notification was to be issued by the Health Ministry yesterday (11). However, it has now been delayed for two days.
Speaking to The Morning, Director General of Health Services (DGHS) Dr. Anil Jasinghe said the gazette was currently at the AG’s Department.
However, according to him, he held a discussion with AG Dappula de Livera regarding the special gazette notification.
The special gazette notification, which was scheduled to be issued yesterday by the Ministry of Ministry has been referred to the AG’s Department.
However, when contacted on Saturday (9), the President’s Media Division Director General Mohan Samaranayake said the relevant
gazette notification was being prepared by the legal consultants together with the relevant authorities and that it would be issued soon.
