Mass Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella has requested the COVID-19 Task Force to provide COVID-19 vaccine to the journalists as well
The Ministry today said the request was made when the COVID-19 Task Force meeting held under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
Minister Rambukwella has highlighted that the journalists have been in the forefront of the pandemic since the beginning as they have been reporting all COVID-19 related incidents.
According to the Ministry, about 6,000 journalists have been registered while 1,150 of them are provincial journalists.
The Minister has said the vaccination of journalists would commence soon.
