The Government decided to print passports and confidential documents of the Government through the Department of Government Printing.
This decision was made at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on Wednesday (16), where it was highlighted that passports and other government documents at present are printed by foreign printing companies.
Printing such documents by the Government Press will retain the foreign exchange within the country, it was further pointed out.
Accordingly, the Minister of Mass Media had presented the Cabinet with a proposal to purchase the necessary machinery for this purpose.
The Cabinet considered the proposal and decided to assign the Department of National Planning to conduct a detailed evaluation of the project.Government Printer to print Passport
