07 Feb 2020

The Government today assured an impartial probe into the Airbus-SriLankan bribery deal. Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation Prasanna Ranathunga speaking in Parliament today said that the government has created the necessary environment for a impartial investigation into the scam. "Our government will not interfere like how the Yahapalana government did in certain cases." Ranatunga further claimed that Sri Lankan Airlines had provided information to the Presidential Commission in regard to the scam. "The Attorney General(AG) had also been provided with necessary reports over the case but failed to take action." "When President Gotabaya Rajapaksa was informed about the matter he took immediate action." Ranatunga further claimed that there were allegations that the politicians of the Yahapalana government swept the case under carpet.
