The Government Information Department today clarified that the government had not taken any decision to sign the controversial Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) agreement.
The Department said media reports claiming that the government was preparing to sign the MCC agreement were false.
Cabinet co-spokesman Bandula Gunawardena during the cabinet press briefing this morning said the government was awaiting the final report by the expert committee appointed to peruse the MCC agreement.
He further noted that a decision on the MCC agreement will be taken following the General election scheduled in August.
