The Government has decided to open up the wheat flour importation market, Cabinet Spokesperson Ramesh Pathirana said today.
Currently only two companies import wheat flour into the Sri Lankan market.
The Government has also decided to reduce wheat floor import duty for a short period of time in order to lessen the burden on the public.
The Government also said it hopes to convert the Maha Season paddy stock to rice as soon as possible and release it to the market.
