Agriculture Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage says that the government has never provided substandard fertilizer to farmers.
The Minister was responding to an oral question raised by Parliamentarian Harsha de Silva in Parliament today (07).
MP De Silva said that a report submitted by the Auditor General in February 2020 had revealed that unsuitable fertilizer had been imported during the period of the previous government.
Emphasizing that substandard fertilizer has never been released to the market, Minister Aluthgamage said that equipment including fertilizer testing kits have been imported and no farmer will be provided with substandard fertilizer.
