The Government has imposed maximum retail prices on face masks. Accordingly, the maximum retail price for a disposable face mask is Rs. 15 while an 'N95' mask is Rs. 150. Sri Lanka is currently facing a shortage of face masks due to high demand over an impending coronavirus outbreak. Many retailers are reported to have sold face masks at prices exceeding Rs.500 . The general public has been advised by the public health authorities to wear face masks as a precaution against virus.
