Govt. issues gazette banning import, re-export of spices

A Gazette notification has been issued by the Finance Ministry prohibiting the re-exportation of certain spices and allied products.

Importation of spices for re-export purpose has also been banned. Accordingly,importation and re-exportation of pepper, areca-nut, tamarind, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, ginger, cardamom, turmeric and several other crops have been banned with immediate effect.
