Govt. lacks knowledgeable visionaries: State Minister

20 Dec 2021

Responding to a question posed by a journalist regarding the current economic crisis in the country, the lack of essential goods and the foreign travels by Members of Parliament, State Minister of Education Reforms, Open Universities and Distance Learning Promotion Susil Premajayantha said that the people who are in Governmental leadership roles do not have a vision or knowledge to run the country. He made this statement while speaking to the media yesterday (19). "People in the Government do not have a vision, nor do they have the knowledge to run the country. If educated people were brought closer, this situation would not have happened," said Premajayantha. When further questioned if he thought that the leaders of the Government did not have the knowledge on any subject when running the Government, Premajayantha said that it was clearly evident from the current situation. "We have been in politics as well, and we have held ministerial portfolios for several years, but we faced the challenges that came our way," he concluded.
