President’s Secretary Dr. P.B. Jayasundare has issued a circular instructing all government institutions in the Western Province and in main cities outside the province to adopt the 'Work from Home' concept as a measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the President’s Media Division (PMD) said.
It said the circular in this regard had been sent to all ministries and other government institutions including the district secretaries, heads of departments and statutory bodies.
The work from home concept was adopted by both government and private institutions from April to May this year.
The government institutions have been instructed to adopt user friendly mobile applications and other online platforms to provide services to the public.
