Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa today (5) said that the government's revenue had dropped by Rs. 600 billion at the end of 2019.
Rajapaksa who was speaking in Parliament today attributed the drop to the Yahapalana government's inconsistent tax policy.
He said from the planned Rs. 2400 billion income, the government was able to collect only Rs. 1600 billion by November and Rs. 1800 billion by December and that the anticipated income had dropped by Rs. 600 billion.
