Government schools will be closed from 13 March to 20 April, Education Minister Dullas Alahapperuma said a short while ago.
He said the decision was taken in a bid to prevent a possible outbreak of the coronavirus.
Alahapperuma added that the Education Ministry has requested private schools/tuition classes to follow course.
Meanwhile, the Catholic Education Office of Colombo has decided to close down all private and international Catholic schools in Colombo from 13th to 26th of March.
