An official Government SMS alert service functioned by the Department of Government Information is to be re-launched tomorrow (22) with the intention of making it a reliable news service.
The service is to be launched at an event held at the Department of Government Information at 11:00 am tomorrow in the presence of Media and Information Minister, MP Keheliya Rambukwella.
The SMS alert will be available on both Dialog and Mobitel networks. It can be activated by typing 'REG' and sending an SMS to 2299 for Mobitel users, and typing 'info' and sending an SMS to 678 for Dialog users.Govt. SMS alert service from tomorrow
