Govt. to consider Johnson & Johnson vaccine: State Minister

Minister of State Sudarshani Fernandopulle said that the attention is being paid to use the Johnson & Johnson Covid vaccine, which requires only one dose, for the vaccination programme in Sri Lanka. At a media briefing held this morning (17), she stated, "Currently there is a decline of Covid patients. We are focusing on various vaccines. Yesterday, the chairman of the SPC said that Pfizer had been informed to send the necessary information for registration of their vaccine." Meanwhile, parliamentary sources said that about 200 parliamentarians have been vaccinated. In addition, nearly 50 retired MPs have also been vaccinated against Covid.
