The Ministry of Education is working to reopen schools for Grade 11 in Western Province on January 25, stated Minister of Education Prof. G. L. Pieris.
Speaking at a news briefing, he said schools in Western Province except for isolated areas would be reopened for Grade 11 students on the 25th.
"Since GCE Ordinary Level exam is scheduled to be held in March, the syllabi of the students need to be covered. Therefore, we are trying best to reopen schools for grade 11 students in the 25th," he said.
He said the results of the O/L exam are scheduled to be released by end of June.
