Grama Niladhari officers (GNOs) have called off their protest following discussion with relevant authorities.
GNOs across the Island withdrew from the duties of distributing the Rs. 5,000 allowance to low-income earners citing issues in the circular provided by the government and political pressurization.
However, following discussion today, GNOs agreed to resume the distribution of the Rs. 5,000 allowance to those who are eligible.
