Group of Sri Lankans in Italy suspected of contracting virus

Seven Sri Lankans in Italy have been subject to self-quarantine on suspicion of having contracted the coronavirus, a Foreign Ministry official told The Sunday Morning. Contrary to media reports stating that 8 Sri Lankans had tested positive for the coronavirus in Italy, The Foreign Ministry official said that the Embassy in Rome has not confirmed as of yet whether the above individuals have tested positive for the virus. The 7 Sri lankans are reportedly from various regions in Italy, such as Lazio, Emilia- Romagna and Lombardy. Meanwhile,  a 70 year old Sri Lankan man has been found dead inside his residence in Messina, Italy. According to the Foreign Ministry hospitals are yet to determine the cause of death.
