Health Services Director General Dr. Anil Jasinghe has issued guidelines for cinema halls with regard to resuming screenings.
“The Covid-19 epidemic is now under control. It is imperative to establish a systematic programme for cinema halls among the steps taken to prevent the re-emergence of Covid-19,” Dr. Jasinghe has said.
The guidelines are published on the official website of the Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medical Services, the statement noted.
The instructions have been published in response to a request made by the Secretary to the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Cultural and Religious Affairs M.K. Bandula Harischandra.
Permission had been granted to reopen cinema halls on Saturday (27) while adhering to these guidelines and after submitting the declaration of consent completed by the head of the hall administration to the Public Health Inspector (PHI) of the area.
