The Head of the State Intelligence Service has become a thug, as he wants a Priest to be arrested over something that was discussed in Parliament, said Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Harin Fernando.
He made this statement during a press conference held yesterday (04).
"Fr Cyril Gamini quoted what was discussed in Parliament. He only quoted what was on the hansard report in Parliament. The CID has no right to conduct an investigation based on this statement. The Head of State Intelligence has become such a thug that he has filed a complaint requesting for a priest to be arrested for speaking about something that was discussed in Parliament," said Fernando.
Fernando further mentioned that if a hand is laid on Fr Cyril, the community will not be silent and will take to the streets.
"If they arrest our priest, all of us will not stay silent. We will take to the streets. We are ready to lay down our lives. This official needs to understand that he might have the backing of the President, but even this President is temporary," concluded Fernando.
