Health authorities: Confident of controlling Covid-19

Health authorities said that they can control the spread of Covid-19, after observing how the people behaved in the districts where the curfew was relaxed yesterday (28). Deputy Director General of Public Health Services Dr. Paba Palihawadana told The Morning that after observing how people behaved in the 21 districts where the curfew was lifted yesterday, the health authorities feel there won’t be any problem that may arise and that they will be able to control the spread of Covid-19. The curfew is relaxed daily from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. until Friday (1 May) across the 21 districts, except Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, and Puttalam. Therefore, she further noted that all responsible authorities will continue with measures such as self-quarantine and other safety procedures. – Agra Ranasinghe
