Health Ministry should pay attention to specialists' transfers: GMOA

16 Feb 2021

The Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) alleged that the Ministry of Health has failed to pay adequate attention to the implementation of specialist transfers that should have taken effect on January 1, 2021. The association said in a statement that this would lead to various administrative issues for doctors specially when getting their children admitted to schools. The GMOA has requested the Director General of Health Services to take immediate action regarding this delay. The GMOA emphasizes that the specialist doctors will not be able to prevent the emergence of issues in various parts of Sri Lanka that disrupt patient care services if the transfers were not implemented.
